In addition to acting, Reid is also an award-winning, nationally recognized playwright, essayist, and poet. His first play, "Houses" premiered at the Obie-Award-winning theater The Tank in 2024, and his second play, "Chorus" is currently in review for several festivals and competitions.

He has received multiple merits from his alma mater, Pace University in both 2025 and 2026 for his poetry, nonfiction essays, and scripts, and was also featured on NPR in 2020 for his podcast script, Popo the Clown, which was awarded a finalist position in the NPR Student Podcast Competition.
