SO, WHY...?
Acting and playwriting have always been my driving passions. I especially love these forms because they facilitate a direct relationship between an artist and their audience. There’s nothing like feeling the energy of a community in the room with you, whether on-stage or at a premier.
Ever since I was little, I was drawn to storytellers who's strongest assets were their humor, humility, intellect, and peculiarity. I’ve developed my own style by studying (and at times) mimicking all my favorites. The artists that draw me in fully transform themselves in order to deliver an equally evolutionary product to the audience.
My greatest sources of inspiration are my family and personal relationships. I love analyzing how larger societal issues carry through the microcosms of our most intimate discussions. The art I create balances naturalistic dialogue and heightened theater practices in order to evoke oscillations between familiarity and discomfort. I aspire to work on projects that are heartfelt and personal, and leave the audience with strong impressions and questions about philosophy, technology, identity, the environment, and social justice.
Some artists that inspire me are Annie Baker, Ben Folds, Tom Hardy, Nazareth Hassan, Christopher Abbott, Walton Goggins, David Foster Wallace, John Mulaney, Hilton Als, David Cronenberg, Charles Bernstein, and Suzan-Lori Parks.
Below you'll find a gallery of images that give a sense of the artist I am today. Thanks for taking the time to get to know me!
